As of 1 June 2025, disposable vaping products are no longer available for sale in the UK due to new legislation banning single use vapes.

Disposable vape kits (also known as disposable vapes/disposable e-cigarettes/disposable vape pens) were completely ready to use vaping devices. They contained everything you need to start vaping, including a built-in battery, coil and e-liquid chamber. 

Disposable vape kits would come pre-filled with e-liquid and activate when you inhale, making them completely hassle-free. You could open the vape inhale with no buttons, settings, or refilling needed. The e-liquid could be nicotine free or it could contain nicotine salt. Nicotine strength differed between different disposable vapes.

Following the UK disposable vape ban, are disposable vapes legal?

No, disposables are no longer legal to sell or supply in the UK following the ban in June 2025. 

The ban applies to all single use vapes across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. A vape is considered single use if it cannot be recharged or if it lacks a refillable container for e-liquid or a removable and replaceable coil. 

How do disposable vapes differ from rechargeable vape kits?

Disposable vapes came ore-filled with e-liquid and built in batteries, designed for single use. Rechargeable vape kits are designed for repeated use.
